What Will Moose Do Next?

While everyone debates Mussina’s HOF resume (which we’ve done a thousand times and proven conclusive) I thought we’d enter that netherworld that exists for today’s journalism. That’s right, speculation and conjecture passed off as news.
Now that Mike Mussina is no longer a professional baseball player, what will he do with his life?
- He’ll coach locally. [...]

Moose News Will Come Soon

Andy Pettitte filed for free agency yesterday making him the 169th player to do so.  The deadline to file is Thursday.  You can do the math pretty easily and figure out that Mike Mussina has to make up his mind very soon.
If the Yankees aren’t interested in bringing Pettitte back, then I think they might [...]

Mike Mussina Retirement Watch

Will Mike Mussina retire? That is the question that this site and Moose fans across the globe have wondered since Mussina earned his 270th career win on September 28th. There’s been a fair amout of ink (or typing) about what Mussina will do. So far, we here, at mussinahof.com have held our breaths and our [...]

How Moose Got to Twenty: August

Posted by Rorschach
Sorry about the lack of updates folks.  We promise to do better in the coming weeks.
This is the third of a four part series looking back at Mike Mussina’s 2008 season.
Part I: 2007, April and May
Part II: June and July
The dog days of August were the best days of Mike Mussina’s 2008 [...]

Let’s Play Two! - (More)

Don’t blink or take a vacation, the 2008 division playoffs in Major League Baseball might be over before they get going.  After three days, every series stands at 2-0.  By 10:00pm Sunday night the series could all be over and MLB would be without a game for 5 days.  Where’s the drama?  Now [...]

Where do we go from here?

Today is September 29th. The Yankees’ season is over. And, if these whispered comments mean anything, Mike Mussina’s career may be as well.
The Moose is contemplating retirement, and frankly, I don’t blame him. I believe that there’s nothing more Mike can realistically accomplish without, as he put it, becoming “nomadic” and hanging on for too [...]

Blog for 20! Let’s Go Moose!

What follows is a live dairy from Mike Mussina’s final start of the 2008 season.  The start was Mussina’s attempt at achieving his first 20 win season.  It may have also been the final start of his Hall of Fame career.  Enjoy the read.
2:35 - Just changed over to YES from the Jets game and [...]

We’ve Been Here Before: Mussina, 20 wins and the final month of 1996

Posted by Rorschach
I know this is a bit long, but I believe it is worth the read.  A bit tragic perhaps though.
In 1996 Mike Mussina won his 19th game of the season on September 7th.  He would start four more games that season. At only 27 years of age, having a twenty win season probably [...]
